Explore the county’s heritage at the Confederate Memorial Wall and Museum in Waynesville, a semi-circular wall eight feet high and 50 feet long that commemorates Confederate soldiers (also the site of the UDC Confederate Monument). The Museum houses documents and items from the Confederacy.

The city of Hoboken boasts a talented group of musicians keeping alive the history of Shape Note singing, also known as Sacred Harp singing, a 200-year-old American style of hymn singing. The town hosts a Sacred Harp sing on the third Sunday in March, attracting thousands of singers and listeners alike.

Brantley County is part of the Brunswick, GA Metropolitan Statistical Area and is one of the fastest growing communities in the Southeast. Brantley County Taxes and Incentives

PROPERTY TAX: Effective tax rates combine city, county, school, and state tax rates into one convenient figure - the annual tax for each $1,000 of property at its fair market value. This rate applies to all property: land, buildings, machinery, equipment, and inventory. Add $ .50 for property in Calvary and Waynesville fire districts and $ .28 for property located in special fire district.



SALES TAX: City and county have 3% local sales tax in addition to the 4% state sales tax.
INVENTORY: Freeport is the general term used for the exemption of ad valorem tax on inventories as defined by Georgia law. The law offers manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and warehouse operations an attractive inventory tax exemption on three classes of property. Brantley County's freeport exemption is 100%. Nahunta exempts 40% on all classes of certain business inventory from property taxation.
