 Occupational profiles in the Greater Brunswick area demonstrate a balance of employees: administrative and managerial, professional, technical, sales, service, production and transportation.
The largest employment gains in Brunswick and the Golden Isles have been in education, health, and social services, and in arts, entertainment, and recreation. Tourism has taken on growing importance, generating up to $1.7 billion annually for the 10-county coastal region in 2004. Economic growth in warehousing and distribution is expected, in part because of the growth of activity in the Port of Brunswick and development of a marquis distribution oriented site, referred to as Pinecrest Logistics Park. Some assembly manufacturing growth is anticipated as well.
The Brunswick-Glynn County Development Authority has been successful in recruiting a number of manufacturers, including Holland Pump, Jered Industries, Gulfstream Aerospace and Innovative Foam Products. The Development Authority hopes to expand its recruitment of aeronautical industries to industrial parks near the Brunswick-Golden Isles Airport.
Brunswick and the Golden Isles has the population ready to fuel the labor demands of most potential employers.
